Around 2000 hours, your volunteers were alerted to a possible fire in the 6800 block of Crittenden road by a passerby to the fire station.
Engine 29 (Lt. Bailey) and C109 (Chief Johnson) responded to the scene.
Upon C109's arrival, he found a residential structure with embers blowing out of the chimney and light smoke showing from attic vents. C109 established Crittenden Command.
Upon speaking to the occupant, he advised that all fire had been extinguished - Engine 29 investigated the attic, and found light smoke conditions, with some small hot spots. Engine 29 was able to cool down same with a water can.
All hot embers were removed from the occupant's wood stove, and water was flowed from the roof through the chimney to finish cooling.
